Carbon Neutral
Tangerine worked with Carbon Plan, an environmental consultancy that specialises in working with business organisations, to measure and document the Carbon Footprint of Tangerine.
Once this was achieved Tangerine turned to PURE, the Clean Planet Trust in order to make a donation and offset the carbon used by the business during the course of a year.
However this is just one part of the process. Tangerine’s staff are committed to improving the company’s sustainability levels. This includes such measures as taking public transport to meetings, monitoring energy consumption by turning off electrical equipment when not in use, recycling wherever possible and ensuring that suppliers adhere to the same high standards.
Staff members are also actively encouraged to participate in charity and local community projects – active days out such as Dragon Boat Racing in aid of Kent Association for the Blind ensure that raising money and having fun go hand in hand.
Matthew Hobbs, Managing Director says, “Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing everyone and I feel that it is our duty as a responsible company to do everything in our power to ensure that our negative environmental impact is a small as possible.”
